The Challenger6 has been designed for those who want to conquer thanks to an ultra modern ECU. It allows managing 1 to 4-cylinder engines in sequential injection and static ignition, and 6 and 8-cylinder engines in semi-sequential injection and lost sparks ignition.

Thanks to its high performance microprocessor the Challenger6 allows to get astonishing accelerations.

Two tunings can get along for the same engine (multimapping). The desired tuning can be selected while running, by a dashboard switch, allowing the adaptation to the driving conditions, a super boost of the engine if necessary.

An exhaust bang is done at the end of sequential gear shifting because the normal ignition advance is recovered with a slope allowing to avoid jolts in the transmissions.

A full self-learning function allows the ECU to auto tune its injection time map when equipped with a Lambda sensor (needs a professionnal license, or on option with standard license).

HELP IN THE SETTING
For a fast tuning, the maps of engine start, engine temperature rise, accelerating pumps and atmospheric altimetric pressure and intake t° corrections are preset for the ignition advance as for the injection.
The PID of devices commands (fly by wire, proportional camshaft, air intake proportional electrovalve, turbo) are also preset.

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS OF ENGINE MANAGEMENT
Advanced engine management functions allow a total optimization of the engine working:
• Full self-learning of injection time map with display of learning instantaneous quality
• Cylinder by cylinder correction of injection and ignition
• Operation in two injection rails with gradual shifting from one to the other
• Proportional positioning of camshafts
• Continuous survey of richness by Lambda sensor (wideband or 0-1 volt)
• Altimetric and/or dynamic pressure correction

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS OF RPM LIMITER AND LAUNCH PROCEDURE
• Rpm limiter on injection or ignition
• Output by output cutoff with rotation of the first output cutoff (engine protection)
• 3 launch limiters, selectable by a rotary switch on the vehicle board allowing to get the best adaptation to the road grip. Gradual limiter shift from launch limiter up to race limiter to avoid wheels slipping at vehicle take-off
• Race limiter

ADVANCED FUNCTION OF TRACTION CONTROL
• Traction control by engine acceleration monitoring in function of the gear position

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS OF GEARBOX MANAGEMENT
Sequential gearbox management or specific management of robotized gearbox.
• Logical or analog switch with definition of the triggering thresholds
• The order of gears can be automotive type, motorcycle or special
• Intervention time in function of gear position and engine rpm
• Intervention at gear shifting on ignition by cutoff and/or modification
• Anti jolts procedure (transmissions protection) at gear shifting by slope to go back to normal ignition advance (bang on gear shift end)

ADVANCED FUNCTION OF CAMSHAFTS POSITIONNING
The proportional positioning is executed by a PWM command with selectable frequency.
The camshafts targets can be:
• on state mark
• on position mark
• on one missing tooth
• on one supplementary tooth

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS OF TURBO MANAGEMENT
• Turbo management by intake pressure control
• Management of wastegates with back pressure
• Pressure target tunable according to rpm and throttle (or pedal) position
• Pressure target multimapping
• Bang-bang (antilag system) at the starting up for cannonball launch
• Bang-bang managed with fly by wire, proportionnal air electrovalve or mecanical throttle opening device
• Bang-bang disabling by dashboard switch for road driving

ADVANCED ENGINE MEASUREMENTS
• Every measure has a customizable digital filtering
• For every measure, it is possible to define a strategy of detection of defect, a strategy of replacement value in case of defect, or to use the standard strategies supplied by the ECU
• Wideband or 0-1 volt Lambda sensor

ADVANCED PROGRAMMABLE STRATEGIES
Extremely flexible strategies allow to multiply the possibilities of tuning:
• Two selectable possible engine tuning by vehicle board switch (for example multi fuels, additives, super boost of turbo pressure...)
• Addition of engine devices

AUXILIARY CAN-BUS
A completely programmable auxiliary CAN-BUS (11 and 29 bit identifiers, speed until 1 Mbits) allows to send desired data to the others connected nodes, data recording or dashboard.

AUXILIARY OUTPUTS
5 completely programmable auxiliary outputs.
They can be configured in On-Off (programmable hysteresis), PWM from 10 to 10000 Hz or angular (engine synchronous) commands, with adjustable cyclical ratio (and phase), and piloted by any combination of parameters known by the ECU.
It is for example possible to command in ON-OFF, PWM or synchronously with the engine external devices in function of the state of the multimapping switch, race switch, or throttle position, engine rpm, temperatures, limiter type, ...

CHALLENGER6 ECU KITS

• The kit is made of the Challenger6 ECU supplemented with accessories to install it on the engine. The kit we provide is specifically designed for 4-cylinder engines with full monostatic ignition and sequential injection.
If your engine has a higher number of cylinders, you maybe need to purchase some complementary accessories.
In any case, report to kit complements below to verify your needs
.

• The USB connection-to-PC kit is not included in the ECU kit. It is to be ordered in option or to be purchased separately. It is essential to be able to connect your PC to the Challenger6 ECU and tune the engine.

*TWO LOOM TYPES ARE POSSIBLE

Semi finished loom
This loom is pre-wired on the ECU side connector, with sensors and actuators connectors not installed.
Its length is to be adapted when intalling on the vehicle, then the sensors and actuators connectors will be wired.
• The connectors of the standard sensors* and standard actuators* that are delivered with the kit are provided.
• The various branches of the loom are labeled (grounds, power supplies, measurements, auxiliary commands, injectors, ...) but not sheathed. High quality canvas adhesive tapes are provided to finish the sheathing when installing.

Finished loom
As every application is different, there is no standard finished loom:
You have to contact the Skynam technical service to detail the complete making of your loom (see contact page).
• The loom is completely sheathed with braid sleeving.
• The lengths of the various branches are standard (2 meters) or customized (lengths provided to Skynam).
• The connectors of the standard sensors* and standard actuators* are installed.
• The connectors of the other sensors and actuators are to install or are to provide to Skynam.
• The fuses and relays bases are installed if required.

*Standard sensors :
These are the sensors that belong to the engine accessories list.
• water and air temperature sensors,
• atmospheric and intake pressure sensors,
• temperature and pressure sensors of oil and fuel

*Standard actuators:
These are the actuators that belong to the engine accessories list.

CONNECTION KIT AND SOFTWARES
The connection kit is to be ordered in option or can be separately purchased.
It is essential to be able to connect your PC to the Challenger6 ECUs and tune the engine. The USB-FTDI interface is the same one than for Challenger5 ECUs.

KITS COMPLEMENTS
The kits we propose are specific to 4-cylinder engines with full monostatic ignition and sequential injection. To use them with a higher number of cylinders, you will need some complementary accessories.

Here are the main types of ignition you can manage:

Distributed ignition (1 ou 2 coils with distributor) :
Uses 1 single ignition module or 1 dual igition module (included in the kit).

4-cylinder engine lost spark ignition (2 dual coils) :
Uses 1 dual ignition module (included in the kit).

4-cylinder engine monostatic ignition (4 single coils) :
Uses 2 dual ignition modules (included in the kit).

6-cylinder engine lost spark ignition (2 triple coils or 3 dual coils) :
Uses 2 dual ignition modules (included in the kit).

6-cylinder twin plugs engine lost spark ignition (6 dual coils) :
Uses 2 triple ignition modules or 3 dual ignition modules (from which 2 included in the kit).

6-cylinder engine monostatic ignition (6 single coils) :
Uses 2 triple ignition modules or 3 dual ignition modules (from which 2 included in the kit).

8-cylinder engine lost spark ignition (4 dual coils) :
Uses 2 dual ignition modules (included in the kit).

8-cylindres engine monostatic ignition (8 single coils) :
Uses 4 dual ignition modules (from which 2 included in the kit).
